Hi, You can use external Java functions in both Xalan and XSLTC. This link (http://xml.apache.org/xalan-j/extensions.html#java-namespace) tells you how to use different namespace notations.

Subject: external java functions and
XSLTC

I am considering switching to Xalan and converting my
xslt stylsheets to XSLTC classes for improved
performance. The only problem is, I am calling some
external Java functions from the xslt stylesheet (and
I'm using SAXON currently). These functions are
performing operations like, lookups in a database
table, etc..
Is there anyway that I can take advantage of XSLTC
without rewriting or discarding my external java
functions?
Thanks!
Dan
