I tried this, and after an annoying time of trying to get it to run usefully, tossed it. Is there anything else like it that I can run? Or an option that I can set to just plain force Xalan, or Jakarta Tomcat, or Java itself, to just do its garbage collection once in a while? Yeah, I know Tomcat 5 lists 'reduced garbage collection' as a strong speed point, but I want it. Especially between transformations. Mrf.

I suggest you try out this great tool.

It will tell you what objects are actually cluttering up memory...
