Xerces XPath factory can not be found through
META-INF/services/javax.xml.xpath.XPathFactory file

The existing META-INF/services/javax.xml.xpath.XPathFactory file does not
conform to the format expected by the XPathFactory.newInstance() method. This
file should have a list of key value pairs, each key being a URI of a object
model supported by the implementation. Here's the JAXP debug statements after
running a test program with -Djaxp.debug:
