We have already done the code freeze for Xalan 2.7.1 release, so definitely any code changes would not be acceptable. However, xerces-Java is a dependency for Xalan-Java, so it should be ok to upgrade to latest version of xerces-Java. However, should any problems be seen in testing phase with xerces-Java 2.9.0 release, we should roll back to xerces-Java 2.7.1 and go ahead with the xalan-Java 2.7.1 release. Any problems found on xerces-Java 2.9.0 can be reported to xerces team; however, we should not wait until the problem (if any) is fixed by xerces team.

Yash Talwar Brian Minchau/Toronto/[EMAIL PROTECTED] 11/20/2006 12:39 PM Please respond to xalan-dev To [email protected] cc Subject Xalan 2.7.1 release with Xerces 2.9.0 The version of Xerces that was tested with the Xalan 2.7.0 release (and packaged with it) was Xerces-Java 2.7.1 The soon to be released Xalan-J 2.7.1 should upgrade to a newer version of Xerces. Xerces is currently voting on a 2.9.0 release. Assuming that comes through, I think Xalan-J 2.7.1 should be tested with, and package Xerces-Java 2.9.0 Anyone have thoughts/objections? - Brian Minchau mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
