I will experiment with some typedefs to make the code build with 2.7 to see if
it can be done. There are a couple of other changes that will need to be made
as well.
In the end, I'm not sure the value of making the head of the repository compile
with an older version of Xerces-C. Typically, trying to do that, especially
through these sorts of changes, is very difficult.
