Using XSL variables with XPath class

Hi,

I'm using the XPath class to query some documents.
Now I need to do some complex grouping. If this had been a XSLT sheet, I
would have introduced some keys and/or variables.

I wonder if it's possible to do something similar if i'm a using the XPath
class?
