I am researching performance improvement strategies for the use of Xalan in a servlet that is used for transcoding existing WEB content for mobile devices.
Reading up on XSLTC/translets, it looks quite promising in terms of performance. I would prefer to use the Trax level APIs for obvious reasons. However these look to be in a "prototype" status at this point.
Is anyone using the Trax API for XSLTC/translets in a production application or banging on it enough to have an appreciation for quality and it's limitations? I would love to hear from you.
