So I checked the source of org/apache/xalan/xslt/Process.java and noticed there is code to enable validation but it is commented out. Is this code temporarly broken or being phased out by some other method?

I'm using Xalan-J with docbook and It seems that the trasformations
aren't working because Xalan/Xerces isn't validating the xml which has
the side effect of id() references not working.
