Dear Sir, I got ur mail id from net. Actually I am facing some doubts in XALAN pgming... So if if you could help me out then it will be very nice.Below I am describing what exactly I want.
I have got one XML file in which I am storing some the table values as the child nodes of the XML to which I am displaying them using XSL in a JSP. Now there certain fields in my JSP where the values do not come directly from the XML file. So what I need to do is after reading the XML file and getting the child node values I need to do some calculations and then display it. Now for this I have written in some methods in Java class. So now I need to call those methods to the Java class from XSL with some parameters where the methods will receive the parameters from XSL, perform all the operations mentioned in the method body and then will return some value again to the calling method in XSL to which I can display. Now how to do this .... I searched a lot in the net ...and got an idea that this can be done using XALAN...but as I am a new bee to XML pgming...I could not understand much from this. So if you could tell me step by step what exactly I should do, then it will be very nice. One more request , it will be great help if you could explain the whole situation through one example. Like one existing XML file and then one XSL file from which I will call the Java methods and also the Java class where the methods are defined. Also plz guide me where to put all the class and all.
