Grammar chaching

I'v got the problem that Xalan presumably caches and reuses DTD grammars.This leads to the effect that recursively loaded instances of a special grammar (with the document()-function) but different local DTD subsets are treated to be identical. (I don't want to call this a bug). Is there any possibility to prevent any grammar caching? The caching is presumbly done by Xerces, so can I tell Xerces to turn off grammar caching?
