I found that the error was in the Xindice project. Apparently we has a buggy version of the dbxml api. Once I worked with the CVS tree everything was allright. Do you plan to make releases of the API or is it always a work in progress? Since many projects now use this api, maybe making a release with a build number would be helpful. An external project can check if a new version has been releases instead of checking out the repository and building the release himself. I had a quick look at the tests and they are a good start. I still see the assert keyword (not 1.4 compatible) and some work that need to be done. I don't promise anything but I'll see how I can migrate the tests from Xindice to XMLDb.
