Check that the Pi isn't overclocked. A friend had that happen: Was overclocked when they received it and was unreliable. Reset that to normal and everything was stable.
Overclock on mine is stable at 950, but dubious at full... Xastir 2.0.0. from repository, mapnik maps, no RF :(
Full CPU while rendering map, but settles with plenty to spare. I think full overclock caused ruin of SD Card.
