Hi Everyone,
I'm curious if anyone else has seen this type of action with Xastir and
a KPC3+ (v9.1)
When I connect my KPC3+ directly to ttyS0 I see delayed packets being
IGated to the APRS-IS:
20061003000000,KA3NAM-9>S8UT8R,WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1,qAO,KC0NYQ-1:`zIal!ok\]"7G}Escape'n
20061003000130,KA3NAM-9>S8UT8R,WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1,qAo,KA3NAM-10:`zIal!ok\]"7G}Escape'n
When I connect the KPC3+ via a USB to Serial adapter I get something
like this:
20061005134640,KC5YTI-3>S8US9Q,WIDE1-1,WIDE2-2,qAO,KC0NYQ-1:`zMam_V>/"[EMAIL
PROTECTED]
20061005134640,KC5YTI-3>S8US9Q,WIDE1-1,WIDE2-2,qAo,KA3NAM-10:`zMam_V>/"[EMAIL
PROTECTED]
(the extra "g" I think is an issue with the USB adapter... Various
characters show up in that position when using the USB adapter)
If I connect my TNC-X to ttyS0 or USB adapter, the problem goes away. If
I connect my KPC3+ to AGWPE (on WinXP box) and have Xastir connect to
AGWPE, the problem goes away...
My initial thought was that there may be an issue with the handshaking
since I seem to recall that even in KISS mode, the KPC3+ uses
handshaking (even though the spec. does not call for it)... Somehow the
KPC3+ buffer is not being dumped in the scenario outlined
above??????????????????????? Dunno.... Weird thing is that the TNC-X
does not have the issues when connected in any configuration... This
leads me back to the KPC3+ as the culprit...?????
Ideas, thoughts, experiments???
