I'm quite amazed that Ubuntu would ship with a bleeding-edge autoconf and
a fossilized automake.  Go figure.

Now, I'm on dinner cooking duty.. so I have to get out of here.

sudo apt-get install ssh cvs

sudo apt-get install autoconf automake m4 gcc libtool

install automake from source

sudo apt-get install xorg-dev
sudo apt-get install lesstif2-dev
