Xastir looks for /usr/bin/play. I believe that if you install sox, it will provide this. If don't have play, but do have /usr/bin/ aplay, a symbolic link will work. Possibly other sound playing commands will work with a symlink to /usr/bin/play.

O.K., I've tried everything and cannot seem to get them to work. As I understand it, I have to use the play (something) command ot get it to work. Like play/usr/bin/xmms or play /usr/bin/xmms or play/ xmms ...... you get the idea, I've tried about every combo.

Sound is working with VMware Player. I can play a stream with xmms.

So what am I missing?
