This is typically a bug in the widget set. If running OpenMotif, try Lesstif instead. If compiling with Lesstif, try OpenMotif instead. You can also try upgrading/downgrading to a different version of either. I typically run OpenMotif and don't see the problem, but I don't tend to run the latest OpenSuSE version either... I hang back a version or three. I'm currently running 9.1? on one machine and 10.0 on several others.
