I'm in the process of setting up Xastir to use an AX25 interface and for some reason I get this when I try to connect to it:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ socket: Operation not permitted Sun Mar 04 12:12:27 EST 2007: Interface Error! Error opening interface 1 Hard Fail I am running Ubuntu 6.06 and trying to use this port as an AXIP link to another machine. I have the port defined in AXPORTS, and kissattached it to /dev/ptyp0 with no issues. Thinking this might have been a permissions issue, I started up Xastir using sudo and sure enough it worked as intended. I also looked at the permissions for the pty port: crw-rw-rw- 1 root tty 2, 0 2007-02-24 19:51 /dev/ptyp0 Looking at that should tell me that it should work as my normal user, but that doesn't appear to be the case. I also added my username (sbrown) to the root and tty group under /etc/group. Any clue why this won't work as a normal user? I'm sure it's a permissions issue somewhere, but I haven't quite pinpointed it yet....... 73's Stephen N1VLV _______________________________________________ Xastir mailing list Xastir@xastir.org http://lists.xastir.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/xastir
