This is what I use. Works for me. Theoretically, you get a year's worth of logs.

" cd /home/cnichols/.xastir/logs for LOG in *.log do mv $LOG /home/cnichols/.Trash/$LOG.`date +%j` done # Note that I have a handy-dandy directory called ".Trash" to put them in.
