That was Tom, one of our active developers, telling you the facts about the autoconf/automake stuff. When _he_ talks, listen. When _I_ talk, ignore about half of it. Which half to ignore is the trick... Not a religious war at all... The autoconf/automake stuff is confusing to people who haven't been immersed in it.
