There is no connectivity when stopping xboxdrv and using xpad. However, the 
dongle/controller works perfectly with Windows 8.

The controller will usually stay connected for long periods of time when 
xboxdrv is loaded. There do remain some sporadic disconnection issues which 
defy my ability to bring into a pattern.

But as you said, its probably not the controller driver. Is it possible 
that I need to install a different driver for the dongle?
