The error message was because it did not get the correct information of
hcp/lpar_id/mtms for the node. Could you check the node definition for
these attributes?

If you'd like to debug, try to print the after the variables:
$lparid,$host,$mtms after the line 'xCAT::Client::submit_request
($cmdref,\&getans);' in the ivm script .

Thanks
Best Regards

Yup, I see (for example):

Dec 7 14:32:09 merri-m xCAT: xCAT: Allowing gethmccon to tambo-test text
for root from localhost
Dec 7 14:32:09 merri-m xCAT: xCAT: Allowing gethmccon to tambo text for
root from localhost

xCAT seems a little light on logging for this part. I took a
copy of that ivm script and tried to turn on verbosity with:

my $verbose = 1;

but when I ran it I didn't see anything extra reported.

# /tmp/ivm tambo-test
Console not ready, retrying in 21 seconds (Hit Ctrl-E,c,o to skip delay)
Console not ready, retrying in 15 seconds (Hit Ctrl-E,c,o to skip delay)
Console not ready, retrying in 29 seconds (Hit Ctrl-E,c,o to skip delay)

Oddly I see exactly the same message if I try a non-existent hostname:

# /tmp/ivm sdgjsgs
Console not ready, retrying in 23 seconds (Hit Ctrl-E,c,o to skip delay)
Console not ready, retrying in 12 seconds (Hit Ctrl-E,c,o to skip delay)
Console not ready, retrying in 17 seconds (Hit Ctrl-E,c,o to skip delay)
Console not ready, retrying in 22 seconds (Hit Ctrl-E,c,o to skip delay)

The second doesn't have any associated log messages with it.

cheers,
Chris
