If you have asu, could you do an asu show devicesandioports on the system?

Here’s what I got back from the node.
[root@contrib10 ~]# ps axf | grep -i getty

[root@contrib10 ~]# logout
Connection to contrib10 closed.
And this from the management node for contrib10 info. Further down is
comparison output for a working iDataPlex M3.
Looks like the only IPMI difference was the “Force Encryption” setting…so I
used ipmitool to set that to true on contrib10, but the serial connection
behaved the same. Any other things to try?

Can you ssh into contrib10 and do:
ps axf|grep -i getty
Want to see if multiple instances could be confusing things.
Also:
ipmitool -I lanplus -U xxx -P yyy -H contrib10-ilo sol info 1
The default should match precisely what you described, but a long shot guess
that a custom config might have confused things....
xcat-user is almost always the right forum for trying to resolve problems.

Hello list,
I’m trying to get IPMITOOL working on our iDataPlex M4’s and have had little
success. Our iDataPlex M3’s do not have a similar problem. The session appears
to activate successfully but all I ever receive is the following:
ipmitool -I lanplus -U xxxx -P yyyyyyyy -H contrib10-ilo sol activate

Can anyone shed any light? Lsdef for the node and the ilo definitions are
listed below. Maybe this is not the right forum. Apologies if so. Would you
be so kind to point me in another direction?
