Make sure the vmnics attribute for the clone target node has been set with
the required nics.

I do not want to redeploy the OS. The template that I'm cloning has complex
customizations that I do not want to reimplement via kickstart/postscripts.
This is why I'm doing the clone. Once the clone is done, though, I am
having trouble discovering the node in xcat if I don't know the IP address
or mac address of the new VM. I figured if I could get the mac address set,
that would be enough to set the IP as xcat controls dhcp. Perhaps I am
going about this the wrong way? How would one typically manage nodes that
have been cloned via xcat?

We thought if you running clone, the cloned system will have OS. That

If you want to use xCAT script deployment for the target node OS install,
why not just copy the definition of vm and run 'mkvm' to create a new
  one?

Hi, does anyone have advice on how to have the mac address set in the
node def after performing a clonevm? My problem is I am running a
clonevm, however, once the vm is clone there is no mac set in the node
  definition so makedhcp fails.
