Hi Damir,

I normally create an ofed.conf file, and then use the –c option with the
mlnxofedinstall script. You can find a sample file in the docs/conf folder, you
should be able to find some sample files for that.

So in essence, then within the <profile>.postinstall you would append “-c
/full/path/of/ofed.conf”.

Look through some of the sample files, and see which one fits your needs.
Personally, I choose the ofed-basic.conf one, and add the relevant options I
need from the ofed-all.conf.

I hope that makes sense

Regards,

Arif

Subject: [xcat-user] how to exclude some ofed packages being installed with
genimage

We are following this guide to install OFED in our compute image and it's been
working great
(http://sourceforge.net/p/xcat/wiki/Managing_the_Mellanox_Infiniband_Network/).

We just heard from our customer and they would like to remove MPI versions that
come installed with OFED. Is there a way to specify what to exclude/uninstall
from OFED during the genimage command?

Thanks,

Damir
