You can check the file /install/postscripts/otherpkgs. It is a very
complicated script. It will be downloaded to the node and run on the node
when doing node deployment or running updatenode command.
In the code, the following variables decides what to use for installing a
package.
hasrpm=0
hasyum=0
haszypper=0
hasapt=0
hasdpkg=0

Please trace the code to see where they are set to 1. For example, for
rh, centos, fedora, hasyum will be set to 1 when "rpm -q yum" is
successful.

Hope it helps,

Ling

Hi Yuan,

thanks for reply. Finaly i've decided to do that using
<profile>.otherpkgs.pkglist.
Have found that it's using rpm instead of using yum.
But according to the documentation syncfiles should use yum or zypper
first and only when both(yum and zypper) unavailable it should use rpm.

Can anyone explain where to check?

Игорь

Hi Indi,

We do not have xcat kits for xlc/fortran big endian rhel, we have xcat
partial kits for xl LE Little_Endian for ubuntu here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/xcat/files/kits/hpckits/;

If you have old compiler kit , you can refresh buildkit.conf and build new
kit by yourself according to
http://sourceforge.net/p/xcat/wiki/Building_Software_Kits/;

Best Regards

We are hoping to use image clone to deploy our stateful nodes (gpu).
Trying
to install systemimager-server is giving us an error:

Downloading Packages:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/xcat/files/yum/xcat-dep/rh6/x86_64/perl-AppConfig-1.52-4.noarch.rpm
:
[Errno 12] Timeout on
http://master.dl.sourceforge.net/project/xcat/yum/xcat-dep/rh6/x86_64/perl-AppConfig-1.52-4.noarch.rpm
:
(28, 'connect() timed out!')

Trying other mirror.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/xcat/files/yum/xcat-dep/rh6/x86_64/systemconfigurator-2.2.11-1.noarch.rpm
:
[Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 7 - "couldn't connect to host"

Trying other mirror.

I am guessing this is related to the sourceforge outage from last week. Is
there another way of installing required packages?

Thanks,

Damir

Has anyone considered adapting the xcat discovery feature to use LLDP
data collected from the switch by the node being installed rather than
SNMP data collected by the xcat master? This seems to be the route other
provisioning tools are heading(I know Razor -
https://docs.puppetlabs.com/pe/latest/razor_intro.html uses this
approach) and might allow xcat to work with more hardware.
