Subject: [xcat-user] Latest state on xcat logging??
Date: Sat, Jul 2, 2016 1:00 AM

I've been using xCAT for well over a decade now and love
it except for upgrades... where things are made better for me ;-)

I just updated from xCAT 2.10 to 2.12 to support some new
IBM power machines we received - I thought this was going
to be rather trivial but the update broke a number of things -
some which I knew of and routinely work around - but it appears that
in 2.11 changes were made for logging - with the xcat install
turning off login using /var/log/messages as a single file
and moving to separate logs

I see this regarding
https://github.com/xcat2/xcat-core/issues/739

and going to separate logging ----I'd rather not not
spend time to revive all the points.

My question is what's the final decision on this - is there
a place where the latest state of this is documented?
I've turned logging back on to go to /var/log/messages..
but it's also going to /var/log/xcat/* files too....
Is there a way to disable this?? What's the latest??
