Hi,
are there any plans to support diskful installation and management of
SLES11 ppc64 (big endian) nodes from an xCAT management node on SLES12
ppc64le (little endian)?
I would like to consolidate OS installation of SLES11-ppc64 and
SLES12-ppc64le nodes (both on IBM Power) onto only one xCAT MN.
The way forward with Linux on Power appears to be little endian (ppc64le)
and SLES12 on Power is available for ppc64le only, not for ppc64.
So, I would consider the more recent SLES12-ppc64le the "natural" OS for an
xCAT MN in charge of both, SLES11-ppc64 and SLES12-ppc64le nodes.
In a quick test, diskfully installing a SLES11-ppc64 node from a
SLES12-ppc64le MN seems to work in my xCAT 2.13.1 environment.
My only problem is: The combination "SLES ppc64le MN/SN with SLES ppc64 CN"
is flagged "no" in the mixed cluster support matrix:

Why this?
