Hi Mark,
Yes I am adding the log statement to my own custom script. The script is listed
in the postscripts. I am using :-
logger -t xcat "my custom log"
When I go to the compute and look at xcat.log, I can see the logs wrt the
statements executed.
I am not able to see the logs from the compute in the xcat management node logs
(i am using it as logserver )
I also noticed that, some of variables like $MASTER, $NODE are also not working
so I need to give the names.

your own ? If your own, is it listed in the "postscripts" attribute when you
run "lsdef <compute-name>" ?
What instructions are you using to do the logging ?
Did you check /var/log/xcat/xcat.log file on compute node to see if your
output is there ?
