Hi all,

I am having an issue with xCAT that is causing me to pull my hair out:

xCAT version: 2.13.5

OS: CentOS 7.2

We are installing our nodes via PXE using xCAT. After installation completes, the node hangs on reboot. After searching the archives, we found that the proper resolution is to change /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg/<node_name> to the following:

#boot

DEFAULT xCAT

LABEL xCAT

COM32 chain.c32

APPEND hd0

This works like a charm, so far so good. I edited /opt/xcat/lib/perl/xCAT_plugin/pxe.pm to reflect these changes. If I run "nodeset <node_name> boot", it creates the file properly, as written above. However! If I run "rinstall" on the node, when the installation process completes, it changes the /tftpboot/pxelinux.cfg/<node_name> to:

#boot

DEFAULT xCAT

LABEL xCAT

LOCALBOOT 0

I have grepped all files involved in the process for this "LOCALBOOT 0" string, and I have removed it from pxe.pm, and temporarily removed any other files that have it. I cannot seem to figure out where this is coming from. I searched the archives and see that another user reported the same issue about 5 years ago, but never got a resolution? Any ideas?

Thanks!
Blake
