Yeah, for case that eth0 and eth2 in same subnet. When doing hardware discovery, xCAT will fulfill Mac attribute as:
"<mac-eth0>|<Mac-eth2>:<node>-eth2"
And also, there will be an entry added in `hosts` table. Please try `tabdump hosts | grep <your_node_name>`
Then, both eth0 and eth2 will get same IP address assigned to node.
Pls let me know if there is any more concerns.
Thx!

Thanks Thomas,The information is very clear, but it is just a bit different with xCAT typical assumption. But it should be handled when discovering, xCAT will assign the same IP to eth0 and eth2 during the auto-discovery.Ertao, could you help to give more information about that? And Thomas, could you give a `lsdef` output on your node, before discovering and after discovering? To set static, you can use `hardeths` or `confignetwork -s`Bin XuHPC Software Development

So actually both eth0 and eth2 on a node are connected to the same network.
This come from the time we'd want to be able to fallback to 1Gb/s
connectivity.
