the compute.centos7.pkglist should contains openssh-server package. what's your osimage defintion? make sure pktdir and pkglist are correct.

And the status still indicates to installing which is makes it clear that head node not able to communicate to get the status. Access to the head from the compute node is possible, and in the compute node "rpm -qa | grep openssh" yields nothing. Also I find that the sestatus is also enabled! Am I missing something here?
