I would like to second Jerrod’s statement regarding Confluent for EL9, if you want to give it a try.
As for xcat rhel9 support, we are also curious regarding the plans for official support on the next release. We did made it work (including stateless and statelite) and if there’s interest, we can gather our notes and share. Probably better to try it with latest xcat-dep after the merge of the two commits below (which, honestly, took care of the hard parts of the porting, so I assume some people on this list knows the topic better). I can find some time and try it again. https://github.com/xcat2/xcat-dep/commit/87d2b8fad2904152adcc27d5c3e0c7a0eb3495e9 https://github.com/xcat2/xcat-dep/commit/16b58193f826962c1cf65f3c7c7b2a3b2dc5f92f One way or the other, we will have a detailed doc in few weeks that we plan to share. Ultimately they made it sound doable, but without details I'm unable to be more helpful on that.. My team has done EL9 (RH, CentOS Stream, Alma, Rocky, Oracle) in confluent OS deployment for anyone that cares. ________________________________ From: Garrett, Charles via xCAT-user <xcat-user@lists.sourceforge.net<mailto:xcat-user@lists.sourceforge.net>> Sent: Thursday, February 9, 2023 2:04 PM To: xcat-user@lists.sourceforge.net<mailto:xcat-user@lists.sourceforge.net> <xcat-user@lists.sourceforge.net<mailto:xcat-user@lists.sourceforge.net>> Cc: Garrett, Charles <cgarret...@bellflight.com<mailto:cgarret...@bellflight.com>> Subject: [External] [xcat-user] Next Release Does anyone know when the next release will occur? Will the next release support RHEL 9? I’m going to build a new cluster soon and would prefer to use RHEL 9 if possible. Kris Garrett Principal Engineer - HPC Bell Textron, Inc
