Hi,

I've used xcircuit for years, with so few problems I wasn't
even aware there was a mail list! But, for the last couple
of days I have been trying to do an install on an Ubuntu
10.04 system, to no avail. So, here I am.

I've done a full apt-get/apt-file update, so all headers
should be in place, and there don't appear to be any missing
library complaints from the configure/make.

To make sure there I really have a problem before posting
here, I just did a clean try, staring with a fresh cvs download
of the latest 3.6 version. The configure and make don't give any
errors and the sudo make install succeeds. When I start xcircuit
it opens a tkcon window with the contents:

loading history file ... 2 events added
   error in slave eval:
   couldn't load file "/usr/local/lib/xcircuit-3.6/xcircuit.so":
   /usr/local/lib/xcircuit-3.6/xcircuit.so: undefined symbol:
   Tcl_PkgInitStubsCheck
   Main console display active (Tcl8.4.19 / Tk8.4.19)
   (xcricuit-3.6.265) 3 %

plus another blank one, (idendified as tkcon.tcl #2). And,
that's it.

I've updated tck/tk and done all the updates I can think of,
but, no success in getting xcircuit to acutally run.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

thanks,

Alan
