Bug Report and workaround in 2.1.1devel downloaded 29aug02
Platform: linux x86, gcc 2.95.2, Suse 6.?, kernel 2.2.16
Problem:
When I select "Transfer & network preferences" GUI
and then select "use" it will core dump in:
settings_net.cxx line 101 (strncpy)
Workaround:
It will not core dump if I first select the "save sent mail in outbox"
box in the "Send" Panel before selecting "use". I suspect .config.outboxname
isn't fully init'd until that happens, but I haven't had time yet to
trace it back.
Also:
Verizon is now requiring SMTP Authentication for their DSL
customers(of which I am one). I have successfully used XCmail 2.1.1devel
(after the workaround) to send email using SMTP Auth. And if this
gets through, then that'll be two emails.
