Did you give the orange view a width and height? Sounds like you positioned it but didn’t say how big it was. Views with ambiguous layout may show up in all sorts of weird sizes and places.
The UILabel has an intrinsic size based on its contents so that sounds like its removing the ambiguity when its a subview. > On Mar 16, 2015, at 10:14 AM, Alex Zavatone <[email protected]> wrote: > > The orange view is positioned at 20, 20 and I've control dragged constraints > to use leading spaces to the containing view so that it will stay 20 pixels > from the top and left and will also stretch to stay 20 pixels from the right > of the parent view. > > In the Storyboard's Assistant Editor, I've selected Preview and have added > all iPhone and iPad sizes.
