“Understanding Source Code in Xcode” https://developer.apple.com/videos/wwdc/2013/ <https://developer.apple.com/videos/wwdc/2013/> > Extra merit (I get the credit for a point system) for approximate timing. It starts at 14:50. The time is burned in my memory because the player was misbehaving when I wanted to jump back a few seconds for instant replay, so I had to keep seeking from the beginning. I see now that it says to save xccheckout in your repository, but overall the setup is still confusing because it’s basically a workspace thing, and Xcode has a weird UI where sometimes the project is logically in a workspace and sometimes the workspace is in the project, and half the time Xcode doesn’t want you to think there’s a workspace at all. There was a long thread about setting this up in the developer forums a while back, where people were getting frustrated and going to incredible levels of voodoo complexity to get it to work. And (are we there yet?) there was a bug creating new projects in workspaces, where the requisite repositories weren’t being created at all. Perhaps things work more smoothly in the latest Xcode. I haven’t had to set up one of these recently.
