Just coming up for air from the last time I sent a message on this topic.   

I read somewhere there was a way to make Git respect the Mac file system's case 
insensitivity, but don't have time to test if that's true.

If I can find time, I'll report it.  Lost too many hours this week because of 
this issue.  Spare time to report bugs would be a nice thing to have.
