ARGH. I got it. I'd refactored a class's name to a more appropriate one and completed all the commits… the commits that were visible from the Navigator panel.
The file that was renamed was committed, but the original that needed to be deleted never showed up in the Project navigator. I had assumed that I'd committed everything that needed to be committed. I was wrong. Selecting Commit from the Source Control menu showed me that this file needed to be deleted, even though there was no indicator on the Project navigator telling me that.. Damn, if there's nothing listed in the Project Navigator when the little safe button is clicked, but there is still a commit required to be made, there should be some kind of feedback indicating what's required to be done or the developer is just left guessing what Xcode wants him to do. The impression given to the user is that there is nothing left to be committed, but there certainly is and there's nothing indicating that. If nothing's displayed in the Project navigator when the safe button is selected but tasks are still required to be committed, a little red chunk of text that states "Commit Required: select Commit… from Source Control" would be really really nice. Thanks. I was thinking it was shades of Friday all over again.
