Quarantine is there for your safety -- and the safety of all of the users on your network. If you remove the quarantine flag, you have NO way to determine whether the file you received is genuine, or is from a proxy that has been "poisoned" with a bogus version (yes, it does happen, and far more often than most people realize). In fact, I'll wager that most people get their files from a proxy instead of the actual Apple servers, whether it is done by Apple or by your ISP. -- Glenn L.
