Since updating to 7.0 and 7.0.1 from 6.4, running 10.10.5, I came to do
my first commit, and Xcode complains:
The working copy “xxx” failed to commit files.
*** Please tell me who you are.
Run
git config --global user.email "[email protected]"
git config --global user.name "Your Name"
to set your account's default identity.
Omit --global to set the identity only in this repository.
fatal: unable to auto-detect email address (got 'myname@machinename.(none)')
I do those, and still get the same message. Do I need to be in any
particular directory when running the commands? Any solutions before I
jump ship and start to learn SourceTree?
