Distribution vendors let all kinds of monstrous products intro their
repositories. I don't think a slightly bigger tarball will make a
difference for them. Especially if:
1. They don't have a choice
2. The products ('xconfig' and 'libbash') are very small as it is

I'm actually leaning more towards this solution ('3') now, as I worry
that another package would confuse potential users.
