Hi Guido, I recently created a polar for a glider that was not available via the usual sources. I just downloaded a silmilar polar file, then replaced the values by numbers I got from a plotted polar I had. It's easy and takes only ten minutes to complete. Did the same for an available polar but different wing loading, the ship has no water ballast but a heavy pilot and a laaaarge battery to max out the mass limit. You can check the polar file by displaying it in XCSoar via the info and then analyze button, then go to the polar page. Er ... wait ... I'm sure it worked like this last time, though now I try, it appears the polar page does not show up.
Does my memory serve me bad or does XCS no longer show the polar? I try again, and only after going to the glide computer page and re-selecting a polar does it show in the analysis, then it hangs on the page and does not accept any input no more. Now after I reset the HP314, it displays a polar in analysis, though under the "wind at altitude" headline. As I type this, about 30 seconds later, the headline changes to "glide polar". Strange ...
