Hi Adrien, Thanks for the useful comments, glad you're up and running with the software. There will probably be a big UI revamp for 6.2 which should address some of the problems you mentioned, when the planning moves beyond the early concept phase (probably after the release of 6.1) there'll be discussion on xcsoar-devel about it.
Please ticket any items you think need attention, though I'll address a few in particular: > On the interface, > - It is surprising having the CLOSE (or CANCEL in 6.1a) buttons at > different locations according to the page you are in... it would > be more consistent (and would increase user accessibility) to have it on a > same screen position whatever the page. This would definitely be fixed in any new UI. > - On my small device screen, the (big) > PAN/ZoomIn/ZoomOut/NearestWaypoint/MarksClear buttons clutter the display > when I need to slide the map in PAN mode (which is a mode in which I am > looking forward to seeing the greatest map area), This is unlikely to be fixed in 6.1, but will probably be resolved in 6.2 by using unfilled buttons (outlines only) with relatively small - but clear - monochrome icons. This way the button touch 'hitbox' area would be similar but more of the map area would be visible. > - Final glide bar behavior in PAN mode is surprising, but maybe this is > intentional: I don't understand why the final glide bar moves with the map > (then returns back to its position) when you slide it (rather than staying > steady with regards to the screen). Design behaviour, but worth ticketing. Easiest fix might be to disable the final glide bar until the rate of panning drops below a certain level.
