From my personal point of view:
- yes, it would be great to have something like TrueWind in XCSoar too,
because it gives you an "opportunity" - you don't need to use it if you don't
want, but if somebody (at least one person) would like, he can...
- when there is 12 predefined directions, that means that maximal deviation
from your track is 15 degrees. You need fly that direction only for about 10-15
seconds. This is not problem for me to follow, if this "procedure" shows me
precise wind information. Definitely: 15 deg. "off-track" for 10 secondds is
far-far less than my usual "off-tracks" when I'm seeking for thermals on
cross-country flights :)
Maybe many people would have similar opinion like me. Maybe many people would
disagree.
