XCSoar always calculates OLC distance to the current position, while WinPilot, (and perhaps others) calculates to your home (or your next waypoint). I much prefer the later since otherwise you can not tell when exactly you can head back home if you want to achieve certain distance (say 1000 km). You can not simply add the distance to home since it depends how your distance was optimized so far. I opened a ticket but so far it is in the wishlist.
