Hi Pilots,

I have a doubt about choosing the type of start cylinder
when in a Racing task and respective times:

1) As far as I know, XCSoar defines automatically the start cylinder as
"IN -> OUT". When I reach the start cylinder, I have to be inside the
cylinder diameter and the task only will be active when I fly out of this
diameter range.

Since here in Brazil we have two types of starting the task:
"IN -> OUT" and "OUT -> ENTER". This other type (OUT -> ENTER) defines that
the start of the task is similar as a cylinder turnpoint: I have to cross
(fly inside) the start cylinder diameter to start the task.

Most of the paragliding tasks here in Brazil defines the
start as "OUT - ENTER" type. If I leave the XCSoar to choose "IN ->OUT"
type, I will always loose some valuable time to make this maneuver to XCSoar
understand the start of the task.

2) How can I setup the correct time (hour) of the start and finish of
the task? Looking at XCSoar, I can only setup the "Start open time" and
"Start finish time", but not the final time of whole task.

Does anyone know how to setup these on XCSoar?

                Best regards,

Mauro H. M. Tamburini
