Robert,
I have never used an Altair but my understanding is that you can use later
XCSoar versions than outdated 5.x.x if you load them on a USB thumb drive. Link
to the latest 6.8.10 is http://download.xcsoar.org/releases/6.8.10/ALTAIR/. Use
a good quality thumb drive, for example
https://www.sandisk.de/home/usb-flash/ultra-fit-usb works fine on the Openvario
and is really small. I donĀ“t know how the two units communicate but you could
try the NMEAOut driver in the front unit and see if this gives you the data you
need in the back seat. I hope somone with Altair experience will chime in and
give you more detailed advice.

Betreff: [Xcsoar-user] Looking for XCSoar 5.2.1 for the Altair
Hi
After talking to a couple more people, it seems that there wasn't a special
build of XCSoar for the two Altairs (front and rear seats) - but I need XCSoar
5.2.1 as XCSoar 5.2.2 is known not to work.
I have searched the net but can't find 5.2.1 anywhere. Can someone point me at
this please?
