During the more than two months since I requested these icons at least Bastien Nocera, David Faure, Stephan Arts, Jakob Petsovits, you and me commented on the thread. Makes six. That's not that bad is it? Certainly more than "nobody cares". Obviously only the the people who work on audio infrastructure are interested in icons related to audio infrastructure. Any maybe those folks actually agree that these icons would be a good addition. And that's the reason together with the fact that they are grown up that they refrained from posting stupid "+1" mails. I am pretty sure I can convince Bastien and Jon McCan to post "+1" mails if that makes you happy, though. If 'missing feedback' is the reason that this whole thing takes that long, it would have been good to say so earlier! > Developers will either use what's available, demand > something else be added, or just use whatever they want anyway. Why does no one want > to be involved, yet everyone wants to complain? It's ridiculous. No, it's not ridiculuous. Maybe not everyone really wants to take part on large ML threads about whether headphones are more like a headset or more like external speakers. Because while having those icons certainly matters, that kind of hierarchy nobody cares about. Also, you overestimating the size of our community. It's a simple fact that we could use more people working on almost every project. If you got feedback form 6 people on a particular change, then you should feel really really lucky -- and not complain about it.
