Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
        Key: XDT-1352
Summary: support for list-index base attribute
       Type: New Feature

     Status: Open
   Priority: Minor

 Original Estimate: Unknown
 Time Spent: Unknown
  Remaining: Unknown

    Project: XDoclet
 Components:
             Hibernate Module
   Versions:
             1.2.3

Assignee: xdoclet-devel (Use for new issues)
   Reporter: Lenny Marks

    Updated: Wed, 20 Apr 2005 4:53 PM

Description:
hibernate3 supports 'base' and 'node' attributes for list-index. I personally
am interested in the base attribute. I'm using hibernate against a legacy
database where the order column starts with 1. Currently, I have to remember to
manually add this attribute where necessary, which is annoying.
