Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
        Key: XDT-1436
Summary: xdoclet-2.0.3 project.xml missing CDATA wrapper for description
       Type: Bug

     Status: Open
   Priority: Major

 Original Estimate: Unknown
 Time Spent: Unknown
  Remaining: Unknown

    Project: XDoclet
 Components:
             Core

Assignee: xdoclet-devel (Use for new issues)
   Reporter: John Casey

    Created: Wed, 15 Jun 2005 9:25 PM
    Updated: Wed, 15 Jun 2005 9:25 PM
Environment: maven

Description:
I'm in charge of the repository conversion process for maven (from maven-1 to
maven-2), and it's recently come to my attention that you have a POM that is
invalid for our parsers. The result of this is that the xdoclet-2.0.3 artifact
(jar/pom) has NOT been made available via maven 2.

The specific problem in this case is the description element, which has a
nested <a/> tag (link). Since the XML used to describe projects doesn't include
an <a/> tag, this is causing our parsers to choke. Would it be possible to wrap
the description's contents in a CDATA section, to allow our converter to
provide access for maven2 users?

I've already fixed the POM on our maven 1 staging repository, but it would be
best if you could fix it on your end as well, for consistency and for
backup-restore purposes.

If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks,

john
